Tampa Bay Defense Alliance Leadership

Currently, the Board of Directors consists of 11 members, four of whom are officers. A key strength of the TBDA is a unique group of “Advisors” – volunteering their time and sharing their experience and expertise in addressing plans, issues or initiatives presented to the Alliance. This Advisory Board purposely includes members from the EDCs, Community Partner Companies, Community leaders, Retired General Officers and Senior Enlisted leaders. The Advisory Board members regularly attend board meetings and support committee activities.

To insure sustainability of the Alliance through the quality of its Board, Advisors and Partners, the TBDA is attempting to institutionalize participation with select positions rather than specific people. A leadership objective of the TBDA is continuity of leadership.  We expect at a minimum to have the Mayors of Tampa and St. Petersburg participate on an ongoing basis with the Alliance. After the current office holders retire or leave office, their replacements will be invited to “fill their slots.” Other Mayors from the Tampa Bay Region will be encouraged to participate as partners over the upcoming months.

Additional positions or organizations with whom the Alliance is trying to institutionalize participation include but are not limited to:

Additional Mayors, County Commissioners, EDC’s, Chamber of Commerce Presidents and other community leaders from the Tampa Bay Region will be encouraged to join the Alliance as Advisors or Partners over the next 12 months to create a sustainable, deep bench of talent and influence.
