About TBDA Leadership

Tampa Bay Defense Alliance Leadership

To ensure the sustainability of the Alliance through the quality of its Board, Advisors, and Partners, the TBDA is attempting to institutionalize participation with select positions rather than specific people. A major objective of the TBDA is the continuity of leadership.  We expect at a minimum to have the Mayors of Tampa and St. Petersburg participate on an ongoing basis with the Alliance. After the current office holders retire or leave office, their replacements will be invited to “fill their slots.”

A key strength of the TBDA is a unique group of “Advisors” – volunteering their time and sharing their experience and expertise in addressing plans, issues or initiatives presented to the Alliance. TBDA advisors include members from the EDCs, Community Partner Companies, Community leaders, Retired General Officers and Senior Enlisted leaders.  The advisors regularly attend board meetings and participate in committee activities.

Additional positions with whom the Alliance is trying to institutionalize participation include but are not limited to:

  • 6th Air Mobility Wing, MacDill AFB
  • 927th Air Refueling Wing (Air Force Reserve), MacDill AFB
  • Joint Communications Support Element, MacDill AFB
